About Mrs. Nickerson:

I began as the morning teacher in our full day kindergarten program when I was pregnant with my third child.  It was the perfect fit to be able to do what I love; teach and raise my family.  My husband Jim and I have four children ages 26, 25, 22, and 19 who are all St. Rose School graduates.   When my youngest began kindergarten, I began teaching full-time.  I moved up to teaching a ⅔ blended class in the fall of 2014 and continued with a blended class for several years.  I now teach second grade and still love seeing the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of all my students as well as witness their joy in new discoveries.   In addition to teaching, I have led the Destination Imagination program at St. Rose School for the last 23 years which has allowed me to continue working with many students throughout their time at St. Rose.

Why did you choose St. Rose?

St. Rose has allowed me to teach in a faith-filled environment that has a strong sense of community spirit and outreach.  My students, as well as myself, develop relationships with students of all ages, other staff members,  as well as the members of our parish.  It is truly a gift to be a part of such a wonderful community.
