The 6th, 7th and 8th grade math is taught by Mr. Selby in the 8th grade classroom. Mr. Selby received his BS and Masters from Oregon State University. He taught at Monticello Middle School for 30 years before joining the St. Rose Staff for the last 6 years.
Notebooks are an integral part of the math grade. They are due every two weeks (8th on Mondays, 7th on Tuesday, and 6th on Wednesdays.) Individual assignments are posted in the room each day. Assignments should also be listed each day on each students table of contents. It is important that parents frequently go over the notebook with their child to see how they are progressing.

Where can you find over half of the St. Rose middle school students thirty minutes before school starts? They are meeting with Mr. Selby in the 8th grade room and are part of the “St. Rose Math Pack.”That’s part of the reason for the phenomenal math test scores at St. Rose. The 2009 7th grade WASL test was passed by 100% of St. Rose students, whereas the state average was 51%.The 2009 8th graders had an ITBS Math Core score of 90%. which placed them in the 99th percentile nationwide for all schools taking that test.
