4th grade news
Religion: Can you and your family name the first five books of the Bible?
St. Rose 4th graders can! Ask them about the Covenant, the Gospels and the
basic structure of the Bible. We are also working on learning some new
ways to pray such as meditation and learning to just listen to God.
Math: Multiplication mania has ended and almost all students have
improved by leaps and bounds! We are now moving on to ordering numbers
and elapsed time.
Reading: We are working on collecting words for our class word jar based
on the story, “Donovan’s Word Jar.” We are also working on stations that
help with fluency, improving vocabulary and identifying basic elements of
stories.
Writing: With a major emphasis on making our writing more descriptive, 4th
graders are currently working on a favorite memory using the five senses.
We will continue to work on this through October.
Social Studies: If you don’t know what an oasis is, ask a 4th grader! We are
currently working on constructing a landform dictionary that will help in
learning concepts for the remainder of the year.
Science: Our current science focuses on the properties of water. The 4th
graders are working with the water cycle as well as water quality in our area.
