Computer classes at St. Rose School have been a part of the curriculum for many years. Students learn word processing, data base, spreadsheets, keyboarding, multimedia, graphics, photo work, newspaper, and Internet use. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade receive instruction once a week in computer science. The lab is also a resource center for both students and teachers. |

Students who wish to use the internet need to have a "Computer Use Policy" form filled out and returned to me before using the internet. The form can be found and printed by going to the Technology Download Page or by obtaining one from me. |

Mr. Lance, the technology coordinator, maintains the network, works with teachers to update and build the school website, and teaches computer classes. We have a new lab of 17 Windows XP computers. Each classroom has at least one Macintosh computer with multimedia capabilities and a network connection. Our eighth grade classroom has 6 iMacs, seventh grade has 7 eMacs, and 6th grade has 7 iMacs for modeling in middle school math, science, language arts classes and research in social studies. The school was able to purchase these new computers thanks to a grant from the Gates Learning Foundation. Mrs. Skillingstead, our past middle school math teacher, was one of the first on our staff to be accepted into the Teacher Leadership Project, where teachers learn to use technology in their classroom curriculum. Later Mrs. Sybert and Dr. Gary Udd were also accepted into the Teacher Leadership Project. |
