8th GRADE

The eighth graders went on stage during the live auction on February 7 to help sell items such as the Notre Dame vs. Husky trip to Chicago and Notre Dame Stadium.

8th:  Adele Baker-Swift (Extension 260)

Mrs. Baker-Swift teaches 8th grade Religion, United States History, and the following electives:

  • Aikido
  • Music Production
  • Cooking/Nutrition
  • Drama
  • Publication: Newspaper/Yearbook

This Trimester my electives are Cooking/Nutrition and Drama.  We use the Parish Center kitchen and stage for these classes whenever possible.

Cooking/Nutrition:  The students are working well together and have made delicious crudite and dips as well as four fabulous soups.  Please ask your students to share their receipes.  Next up on the menu Mac n' Cheese and Pasta Sauces.

Drama:  Students are participating in improvisation exercises and must memorize and perform one Sonnet and one Monologue from Shakespeare.

Religion and Social Studies

Religion:  We have started with the textbook, "Morality" and they are writing reflections on the book "How Do You Spell God?"  They will also have a Saint report and Power Point due this trimester.

Social Studies:  We are finally moving to the 20th century.  A notebook check of their Social Studies notebook will be due after WASL testing is over.

PARENTS, if you have photos of students participating in school events or in the classroom, email to me, abaker@strose-school.org.  We need candid photos for the 08/09 yearbook.
