PRESIDENT -- Duties: To lead student council meetings, assign jobs to other students and assist with Student Council activities. Requirements: Must maintain a “B” average throughout the school year. Must have outstanding leadership skills. VICE-PRESIDENT -- Duties: To assist the president with Student Council activities and to lead Student Council meetings when the president is absent. Requirements: Must maintain a “B” average throughout the school year and demonstrate good leadership skills.
RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS -- Duties: To read prayers on the intercom and at school assemblies and Masses. Requirements: Must show an exceptional respect of the Catholic faith. Must maintain a “C” average.
SCHOOL SPIRIT -- Duties: To boost students' excitement for upcoming events, make and put up signs to promote school events and help lead school assemblies to support the sports teams. Requirements: Must demonstrate leadership skills and pride in St. Rose School. Must maintain a “C” average.
CLASS REPRESENTATIVES -- Duties: To attend Student Council meetings and report news and events to the classes. Requirements: Must represent St. Rose School in a positive manner. Must maintain a “C” average.
MEETINGS: The meetings for Student Council are held monthly from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the school library. All members are required to attend. The meetings are supervised by fifth-grade teacher Mary Sue Hippi and parent volunteers Jenny Isaacson and Beth Laufer. The goal of Student Council is to support St. Rose School and its students.
