Philosophy of Education It is the belief of St. Rose Parish School that families, parish, and school work in partnership to provide a strong Catholic educational experience to its students in preparation for life. 1. The education of children is first and foremost the responsibility of the family. It is in the home that concepts, attitudes, and behavioral patterns are formed and that have a strong bearing on the direction and progress of a child's education. 2. Saint Rose Parish assists parents to be effective teachers of religious education by providing the opportunities for spiritual growth through liturgical and volunteer experiences. The parish also partners with home and school to prepare children for the reception of the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. 3. The school's role is to coordinate the academic education and supplement it with other tenets of the school philosophy. With teachers as facilitators, St. Rose Parish School reflects a commitment to the Catholic faith, provides an atmosphere that allows students to reach their academic potential, encourages the development of social skills, and promotes lifelong learning. |
