REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

To register a student at St. Rose School, please drop by the school office to obtain a registration form. The school office is located at 720 26th Avenue in Longview, WA, and office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  Note: During the summer, registration packets are also available  at the St. Rose Parish Office, located across the street from the school.

ADMISSION POLICY

St. Rose School admits students of any sex, race, color, and national or ethnic origin.  St. Rose School does not discriminate in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship, tuition assistance, athletics, or other school-administered programs.  Applicants must meet all school policy requirements to be considered as qualified applicants for various programs offered at St.Rose School.

 

Students are selected in order according to the following procedures:

  1. Returning students and siblings of returning students
  2. “In parish” family – defined as one who meets all of the following criteria:
    1. Attends Mass regularly at St. Rose Church
    2. Is a registered member and has completed a census form
    3. Contributes regularly to the support of the parish by envelope, check, or other identifiable means
    4. Participates in parish ministries and programs through appropriate volunteering of time and talent
    5. Has met the above criteria prior to the beginning of the school year
  3. “Other Catholic parishes” – defined as families belonging to a Catholic parish other than St. Rose and meeting the above criteria at their parish.
  4. Registration is open to the community at large

 

Age requirements for primary grades enrollment

In order to enter St. Rose preschool, students must be either 3 or 4 years old by September 1st.  Kindergarten children must be 5 years of age by September 1st of the year they enter. For 1st grade, children must be 6 years of age by September 1st of the year they enter.  Occasionally exceptions are made based on teacher and principal recommendations.

 

New Students

All new students will be on a one trimester probation period.  At the end of this period, an evaluation by the teacher(s) and a review by the principal will determine the student’s continued enrollment eligibility.

 

Students transferring from other schools will be required to present current immunization and school records before they will be allowed to attend class at St. Rose.  Final action on all applications for admission is subject to the approval of the principal.
